Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Program Managers in coordinating all aspects of Dortec and customer APQP process / requirements including program management activities; in the design and development of tooling, facilities, equipment processes, etc.; in coordinating, preparing and packaging prototype and pre-launch samples and shipments.
  • Coordinate the development of product designs, tooling, gages, and process planning for small programs where applicable as directed by CPM
  • Creates, issues and maintains all program timelines under the guidance of the Program Manager (special projects, VA/VEs, cost reductions etc.)
  • Coordinates all new model and or special current pre-production activities from scheduling to shipping pre-production assemblies to support internal and external quality, cost and timing targets.
  • Communicates and makes recommendations to Cross Functional Teams on all issues, including timing of builds, pre-production equipment requirements, scheduling, cost, quality and open issues.
  • Ensures proper sign-off of pre-production equipment if needed (PCN)
  • Review and analyze customer release requirements for pre-production and Carryovers
  • 100% on time delivery as prescribed by window times for pre-production and Carryovers parts
  • Provide timely and accurate confirmation of planned shipping quantities and times for customer releases
  • Communicate customer requirements and updates to appropriate personnel
  • Communicate advanced-shipping notifications to customers immediately following shipment departure for customers as required.
  • Prepare appropriate shipping documents including bill of lading, packing slips and customs papers as required
  • Analyze and reconcile customer/Dortec shipment discrepancies including those associated with cumulative quantity shipped errors, customer returns and defective material for pre-production
  • Arranges any special freight - i.e. customer expedites when required
  • Identify and communicate relevant news bulletins from customers as required
  • Performs record retention
  • Maintain accurate documentation for shipment and release schedule reconciliation and follow up
  • Work with Finance and Sales to ensure POs are correctly issued for pre-production orders.
  • Work with the Quality team to ensure pre-production parts follow a quality process
  • Executes Division purchase transactions (ex. Supplier PO issuance, amendments)
  • Work with engineering staff to obtain drawing approvals from suppliers
  • Coordinate the work of the Pre-production Assemblers and provide direction on builds
  • Trains new assembly operators as necessary.
  • Oversee Assembly operators (pre-production and/or warranty) and ensure part analysis is being performed
  • Correct unsafe acts or conditions, ensuring all health and safety policies are followed.
  • Maintains safety and housekeeping at all times.
  • Perform other duties as required


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • 3 to less than 5 years of work related experience.
  • Well-developed communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities
  • Able to lead and work independently as well as within a group
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of software in current use - Word and Excel
  • Good understanding of blueprints
  • Sound computer knowledge
