Power Platform Solution Designer

The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to design, code, test, correct, and document complex programs and scripts based on agreed specifications and standards. The role involves collaborating with team members in reviewing specifications and ensuring the successful implementation of software solutions. Additionally, the role includes analyzing business requirements and implementing Servicenow solutions in alignment with business stakeholders.

  • Location: Sun Prairie, WI

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)

  • The salary range for this role is between $80,000 -$100,000 depending on experience

Your new role

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Design end-to-end Power Platform solutions that meet business requirements and align with best practices.

  • Develop solution architectures using Power Apps (Canvas & Model-driven), Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.

  • Design application design patterns for commonly used application types

  • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

  • Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Azure services, and third-party systems.

Design Patterns & Reusable Templates

  • Establish and maintain design patterns, templates, and reusable components for commonly used applications (e.g., request management, approval workflows, document automation, reporting dashboards).

  • Define best practices for UI/UX consistency, performance optimization, and accessibility in Power Apps solutions.

  • Develop and manage a library of reusable components, connectors, and Power Automate templates to accelerate development and ensure consistency across the organization.

  • Promote the adoption of reusable low-code/no-code frameworks to streamline citizen development efforts.

Governance & Compliance

  • Adhere to governance frameworks, security, and compliance policies (e.g., DLP, GDPR, HIPAA).

  • Define best practices for application lifecycle management (ALM), including Power Platform Pipelines or Azure DevOps CI/CD.

  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and security best practices within Power Platform solutions.

  • Support the security of the environment through regular audit activities.

Development & Customization

  • Configure and customize Power Platform components using low-code/no-code and pro-code (JavaScript, TypeScript, Power Fx, and C# for Plugins/PCF controls).

  • Design and implement custom connectors, APIs, and integrations with external systems.

  • Create efficient data models using Dataverse, SQL, and other data sources.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with business analysts, developers, and end-users to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs.

  • Conduct workshops, training, and knowledge-sharing sessions for citizen developers and IT teams.

  • Support change management and user adoption strategies.

Monitoring & Optimization

  • Implement solution monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting strategies.

  • Optimize licensing, storage, and API usage to ensure cost-effective solutions.

  • Analyze usage patterns and recommend enhancements or decommissioning of underutilized solutions.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance. We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
