Policy Advisor – Energy Policy & Legislation
Location: Washington, D.C.

A prominent bipartisan public policy team is seeking a Policy Advisor with 5+ years of experience in energy policy and federal legislative processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-career professional to play a central role in shaping energy policy outcomes for sophisticated corporate and institutional clients.

What You’ll Do
As a Policy Advisor, you’ll support clients on issues ranging from energy transition and infrastructure to climate policy, utilities regulation, and advanced energy technology. You’ll:

  • Track and analyze legislation, regulations, and appropriations related to U.S. energy policy

  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies to influence Congressional and executive branch decision-making

  • Draft client communications, policy briefs, and strategic plans

  • Prepare clients for meetings with key policymakers and federal agencies

  • Collaborate with attorneys and policy professionals to address the legal and regulatory dimensions of energy strategy

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience working in energy policy, legislation, or federal affairs

  • Capitol Hill experience strongly preferred, particularly with committees of jurisdiction (e.g., House/Senate Energy Committees, Appropriations, etc.)

  • Experience at an executive branch agency (e.g., DOE, FERC, EPA) is also highly valued and may substitute for Hill work

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (JD, MPP, or similar) preferred

  • Excellent writing, research, and verbal communication skills

  • Team-oriented, client-focused, and eager to work on impactful public policy matters

Why This Role?
You’ll join a collaborative, mission-driven lobbying and policy team embedded in a full-service law firm—giving you the platform to advocate effectively on both policy and regulatory fronts. With access to high-profile clients, complex challenges, and bipartisan networks, this role offers the chance to shape the future of energy policy from a place of influence and integrity.
