The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Professional to join the AUSPAC Transformation & Portfolio team in Sydney as the PMO Data Insights & Optimisation Lead. Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Performance, you will own the end-to-end development of data-driven insights and stories that will support efficient and effective governance of the AUSPAC Change Projects Portfolio using various tools, models and systems. However, this role goes far beyond managing our data and dashboards. This is a highly business driven role that is focused primarily on providing impactful stakeholder outcomes and continuously improving the way we do reporting – better, faster, smarter – including embedding automation wherever possible and providing data stories that support informed decision making.
Your new role
As the PMO Data Insights & Optimisation Lead your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
-
Identifying and implementing improvements to operational systems, processes and policies to enhance data driven and efficient governance of the AUSPAC Change Projects Portfolio.
-
Extracting, structuring, cleansing and organising data to ensure reliable, defensible and relevant results for the basis of designing and building useful dashboards.
-
Support the development of reports and presentations that show case insights in a manner digestible to General Manager and Executive stakeholders
-
Using the Microsoft Power Suite, building automation and AI into our reporting to allow higher level strategic thinking
-
Together with the Head of Portfolio Performance, engaging with GMs and Heads of Level stakeholders to explain and interpret dashboards to bring to life meaningful and actionable insights
-
Participate in continuous improvement activities to drive automation and efficiency in Transformation Project Management Office activities
-
Championing a proactive change mindset, along with a hunger to learn new tools, pilot and build new capabilities and constantly challenge inefficient processes and practices
-
Providing technical support to end users on the use and application of data and educate them in the usage of the reporting and analytical tools.
-
Resolve escalated complaints and respond to critical issues appropriately
About you
To be successful in the PMO Data Insights & Optimisation Lead role, you will ideally come from a similar sized corporate organisation and will have worked in a Project Management Office (PMO) overseeing large scale transformation projects or in an insights-driven reporting related role. -
Advanced Data skills – experience using SQL to pull, match and consolidate data in a meaningful way
-
Experience working in a PMO or another relevant reporting role that includes streamlining and automating PMO reporting to minimise manual effort e.g. automating the creation of Executive-ready PowerPoint slides from Dashboard views
-
Experience with Portfolio Project Management tools – MS Projects (current resource management tool) and/or Planview (incoming tool) are preferred, but experience with similar tools also advantageous
-
Experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards (preferred as this is the tool utilised within QBE) or similar platforms such as Qlikview or Tableau
-
Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as effective influencing skills
