PL/SQL Developer

We are looking for a PL / SQL Developer to join one of our development teams delivering solutions to a telco client. You will be involved in the development of world-class solutions in accordance with functional specifications and system architecture as well as to design and implement data structures and queries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• PL/SQL Development
• Unit Testing

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and development of new features and products, within an application framework, together with other members of the project team.
• Maintain existing code
• Documentation and unit testing for items developed
• Configuration of the application, for new products and elements
• Deliver code that is functional, understandable, maintainable and testable
• Utilize version control, build, continuous integration solutions and code quality tools as required
• Responsibility for own deliverables
• Participate in training design, documentation and delivery efforts

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Educational Qualifications:

• Software Engineering Degree or National Diploma

Experience

• 3 to 5 years PL/SQL experience

Skills

Essential

• PL/SQL development experience
• SQL expertise including performance tuning
• Experience with PL/SQL objects, types, packages, exception handling, etc.
• Understanding, exposure and experience with Software Engineering Principles
• Understanding, exposure and experience with Data Modelling Principles
• Take responsibility for defect-free delivery within project deadlines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated

Advantageous

• Experience in the development of applications for the telecommunications industry
• Java experience

Other requirements

• Candidate can be based in Cape Town or JHB
