Department OverviewThe Core Platform Team is responsible for the comprehensive management of our operating systems, Azure cloud infrastructure, and container environments. We specialize in the creation, deployment, and maintenance of containers, as well as the automation of daily platform tasks. Our team ensures seamless integration and optimal performance across our technology stack, driving efficiency and innovation in all our operations.
Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled and experienced Red Hat/Linux Administrator to join our dynamic Platform team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, container technologies, and scripting. This role involves maintaining, upgrading, and securing our Linux environments, as well as managing Docker containers and writing scripts to automate tasks.


Basic Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

1. Red Hat/Linux Administration:

 a) Perform day-to-day Linux administration tasks, ensuring system stability, performance, and security.

 b) Manage OS patching processes, including planning, execution, and troubleshooting.

 c) Conduct upgrade and rollback validations to ensure system integrity.

 d) Implement quarterly security patch upgrades to maintain compliance and protect against vulnerabilities.


2. Docker and Container Management:

 a) Write Dockerfiles from scratch to create custom Docker images tailored to specific application requirements.

 b) Build, manage, and deploy Docker images in various environments.

 c) Perform Docker container upgrades and rollbacks, ensuring minimal downtime and service continuity.

 d) Understand Docker networking concepts and configure container networks for optimal performance.

 e) Debug and resolve Docker-related issues efficiently, ensuring smooth operation of containerized applications.


3. Scripting and Automation:

a) Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate system administration tasks and improve efficiency.

 b) Write Ansible scripts for configuration management and deployment automation.

 c) Utilize Python for advanced scripting needs (is an added advantage).


Qualifications:

1) B.Tech in Computer Science or a related field with Computer science as one of the core subject

2) Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

3) Strong communication skills and the ability to document processes and procedures clearly.

Experience:

1) Overall experience of 5-8 years

2) Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Linux administration.

3) Minimum of 3-4 years of experience with Docker or other container technologies.

4) Minimum 3 - 4 years of Experience with shell scripting and Ansible automation tools.

Preferred Certifications:

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
