What we are looking for:

Flawless has built a team of leading scientists and engineers across its offices in Los Angeles and London to work on the world’s most innovative technology for filmmakers. As we continue to grow this team, we are now looking to hire a Platform Engineer in our LA office to support the rapid innovation of our cross functional AI model delivery teams. This is a new role within the global Platform Engineering team who own the overall cloud infrastructure, SRE and DevEx across Flawless. The Platform Engineer will foster close collaboration with Engineering teams in LA and London, and provide technical guidance to ensure the team have the appropriate tools and infrastructure available to them. We’re constantly working to utilize the latest tools and technology to improve our platform's scalability, efficiency and security. You’ll be working across multiple different science and data work-streams and as such, your work will be very challenging and varied.

This is an Onsite role under a hybrid work schedule (Tuesday and Friday are remote)

We are not able to hire fully remotely for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Develop flexible, cost-effective and scalable infrastructure to support rapid development for our cross functional model delivery teams. 
• Detect and address infrastructure bottlenecks, e.g., data loading in deep learning frameworks.
• Work alongside our software and ML engineers to build cutting edge software and ML deployment platforms.
• Build, support and maintain our AWS infrastructure & Kubernetes platforms.
• Manage data storage: data sets, archives, housekeeping, etc.
• Manage GitHub access, groups and repo permissions.
• Cloud infrastructure management: Cost tracking, instance usage, workstation policy management.
• Manage and build observability tooling, pipelines and visualizations.

Qualifications:

• This is a mid level position, we're looking for someone with a minimum of 4 to 5 years industry experience.
• Good understanding of AWS or similar cloud providers. 
• Familiarity with IaC such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience using containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools, including Kubernetes.
• Experienced building elastic, efficient infrastructure and auto-scaling environments.
• Experience in writing code to automate processes.
• Experience working on CICD pipelines (we use Github Actions)Experience with GitHub developer platforms (user & admin level).
• Software development experience in any language.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with developing and/or maintaining local/cloud Linux based GPU servers.
• Knowledge of Python programming and the Python ecosystem. 
• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering, and observability tooling / good practice.
• Experience with AI / ML tooling and model delivery.
• Familiarity with Datadog or similar observability systems
