The Payments Software Engineering team resides in the Payments Service Utility and its purpose is to restore the trust of our customers by transforming the Payments services experiences provided by the Bank to 99.999% availability, greater agility and reliability.
Our team is composed of engineers and technology leaders, who bring in the right mix of skills to enable this transformation. We also work very closely with our business and operations colleagues to support these services which are critical to the Australian and Global economy.
We are now looking to hire two Platform Engineers to develop and deliver the vision for our Public Cloud Modernisation transformation within the Payments domain. This high availability, modernised platform powers many critical elements of the customer experience for our products.
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Engineering Chapter Lead and indirectly to the Delivery Manager and Product Owner, your typical day will be to:

Design, build and run highly available and fully monitored systems

Build systems that are designed to break gracefully without customer impact

Resourcefully find solutions to problems that have not occurred yet, lead technical calls
-
Read packet captures and install software and tools
-
A fast learner and value sharing of knowledge
-
Mentor other team members
Knowledge and Skills
-
Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology or any similar stream
-
Relevant experience gained in a similar role is required
-
Demonstrated experience in banking or related financial services
-
Unix/Linux (Red hat Systems administrator level)
-
DevTools (Ansible, Jenkins/Team city, Artifactory, Github)
-
Monitoring tools (SPLUNK , Grafana)
-
Applications (Java based and generic applications experience)
-
Networking (Solid understand of TCPIP, load balancing, TLS/SSL, Security/Firewalls/Proxies)
-
Infrastructure (Physical servers and Cloud compute) Integration troubleshooting (you can troubleshoot up and down streams as well as instream systems)
