Job Description

Brightspeed is seeking a Network Core Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team! This position plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the performance of our Transport and Data networks. As a Network Core Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring network elements, designing new network builds, submit costing and approval request for network build projects, evaluating capacity utilization, and forecasting bandwidth requirements to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery.

As a Network Planning Engineer Your Responsibilities will include: 

  • Network Management: Manage network elements for both Transport and data networks, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Capacity Utilization Monitoring: Continuously monitor and evaluate network capacity utilization to maintain a high level of service quality.
  • Bandwidth Growth Forecasting: Forecast and trend bandwidth growth, proactively identifying potential capacity issues.
  • Augment Capacity Relief: Develop and implement plans to augment capacity relief as needed to meet network demands.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with engineers and other cross-functional teams to optimize network resources and ensure capacity planning aligns with future growth.
  • Costing: Ensure accurate costing of facilities across multiple quoting systems
  • Network Augmentation: Develop plans and designs for new projects, and modification of Core equipment and devices
  • Position requires limited direction and guidance

Qualifications

What It Will Take To Catch Our Eye: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
  • 6+ years of related experience 
  • 4+ years of related experience with a Master's Degree
