The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Planning and Control Manager (Domestic) to join the Hydromechanical team, based at Control Systems Birmingham.
As a Production Planning and Control Manager, you will be responsible for leading Planning & Control activities across the product lifecycle for the domestic manufacturing supply chain. You will be accountable for coordinating the Sales and Operations Planning Processes (SIOP) to enable optimised inventory and logistics cost whilst ensuring delivery performance expectations are achieved.
Working on-site with Operations Leadership, this role will lead a team of Planners and Production Controllers tasked with delivering the detail plan for more than 1000 components and 70 unit assemblies delivered to both OE and MRO customers worldwide.
What you will be doing:
- Work with Operations, Manufacturing, ME, Quality & PM/PI managers within Domestic team to ensure performance enablers are understood, prioritised and supported. Feeding forecast improvements back into the plants planning assumptions.
- Lead the 4 weekly planning process to create a cohesive set of balanced plans that deliver business and customer operational requirements, aligned to the plants load and capacity statements.
- Utilise rough cut load/ capacity planning techniques to provide indicative responses to guide immediate impact assessments.
- Lead scenario modelling to ensure impact of planning/ scheduling decisions is understood at a manufacturing group, business unit or sector level.
- Provide management reporting suitable for a Senior Business Leader audience.
- Develop inventory budgets and forecasts that deliver year on year improvements in stock turns.
- Prevent the creation of surplus or obsolete inventory through monitoring the demand/ change signals to identify risk at the earliest opportunity and support the timely operational and financial treatment.

- Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification.
- Experience of production planning & control is essential.
- Has Manufacturing or P&C experience.
- Experience of Load and Capacity is desirable.
- Able to manage and make decisions under challenging circumstances.
- Able to take responsibility for their own development.
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing execution system is desirable.
- Working knowledge of SAP is desirable.
