The Finance Data and Reporting (FDR) team within the Studios Business Group (SBG) is focused on streamlining the relevant data and reporting infrastructure to provide speedy and easy access to the relevant data and metrics needed for delivering strategic insights and recommendations, and for facilitating informed business decisions to achieve our financial objectives.
We are currently looking for a Planning Analytics Analyst to aid in achieving our goals. The information below details the role and what we are looking for in a candidate.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide support to users of the finance planning tool (IBM Planning Analytics) throughout the planning cycle (annual budget and quarterly forecast), including administration of the application, setting up new users, support for reports created via Planning Analytics for Excel, resolution of ad-hoc queries, maintenance of documentation, and delivery of end-user training
- Work with FP&A and technical teams to identify and implement systems improvements within IBM Planning Analytics
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure planning seed data is updated within the tool (actual transactions, headcount information, depreciation forecasts) and dimensions & security updates are made on a timely basis through the planning and reporting cycle
- Project manage and deliver system upgrades and improvements based on change requests, providing testing of code updates and roadmap changes as required
- Identify and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency
- Understand data flows and make them more dependable and repeatable, strengthening links to other enterprise tools
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of finance principles, with previous experience working on budgeting and forecasting processes and interacting with finance analysts
- 4+ years of IBM Planning Analytics development experience (version 2.0 or higher) with knowledge of:
- Server installation and system configuration
- Cube and application design
- Planning Analytics TI + chores
- Feeders
- Planning Analytics security, including element security
- Planning Analytics architecture
- MDX
- Experience using Planning Analytics REST API (preferably via CubeWise's Canvas product)
- Experience in project management of key financial initiatives within Planning Analytics
Additional Skills (Nice to Have)
- Exposure to master data management solutions
- Experience with Cognos BI integration
