MetrumRG is seeking a talented PKPD Modeling and Simulation Group Leader and Principal Scientist with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our team. You will lead a team of motivated scientists as they address challenges in the application of model-informed drug development and develop their skills and careers. Qualified individuals will contribute to fighting diseases through strategic collaborations with our clients in biomedical research, development, and post-marketing programs for new drugs, biologics, devices, and diagnostics. M&S scientists will be expected to develop and implement quantitative, data-driven pharmacometric strategies for knowledge integration and decision-making to guide drug development programs. Scientists will also contribute to internal and external reporting and publication of results and will be expected to continue to develop skills and knowledge in biomedical modeling and simulation.
Job Summary
Leads a group of modeling and simulation scientists. Responsible for the professional development of group members. Performs or provides support to other scientific staff in modeling and simulation analyses. Participates in all company scientific endeavors. Consults with clients on project work. Group Leader, Principal Scientist I demonstrates the ability to take on the Responsibilities. Group Leader, Principal Scientist II demonstrates consistent performance of these Responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Scientific advisor for a group of modeling and simulation scientists.
- Supports group members’ scientific development.
- Participates in business development efforts.
- Perform and oversee all aspects of modeling and simulation to support drug development and clinical trials.
- Provide strategic drug development consultation and technical guidance for clients.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external dissemination.
- Participate in MetrumRG training courses as a teacher or aid.
- Present and publish scientific findings.
- Provide supervision and mentoring to scientific staff.
- Serve a leadership role in advancing the goals of the company.
- Project scoping and proposal preparation.
Requirements, Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated skill in leading individuals and teams
- Ability to mentor and train early career scientists
- Ability to apply modeling and simulation tools such as NONMEM, MONOLIX, or STAN to quantitative decision making.
- Ability to participate in drug development teams as a pharmacometrician or statistician
- Perform programming and use statistical tools like SPLUS, R, or SAS.
- Perform Bayesian data analysis.
- Ability to work with others to complete team level tasks.
Education and Experience
Ph.D. degree in a scientific discipline (pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacokinetics, mathematics, statistics, biomedical engineering, or a related field) or Master's degree with relevant experience, or equivalent.
Experience: 10+ years of direct postgraduate experience. Demonstrated technical abilities and desire to advance the science and assume a leadership position within the company and scientific community.
Physical Demands
The job frequently requires working at a computer terminal, standing or sitting, and the ability to operate the computer with proficiency.
Work Environment
The work environment is quiet with no adverse conditions.
