We’re seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics to lead our data initiatives and drive insights that influence business strategy.


The Director, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics will oversee the development and implementation of data-driven strategies that support business goals. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in data analytics, business intelligence, and SaaS metrics. The ideal candidate will be passionate about transforming raw data into actionable insights, fostering a data-driven culture, and guiding cross-functional teams to make informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive BI and data analytics strategy to support business objectives and drive growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data analysts, BI developers, and data scientists.
  • Collaborate with organizational stakeholders to identify key metrics, data needs, and reporting requirements across departments.
  • Design and maintain scalable data models, reporting systems, and dashboards.
  • Drive the adoption of data analytics tools and best practices across the organization.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data sources.
  • Analyze complex datasets to provide actionable insights that influence product development, customer success, marketing, and sales strategies.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data analytics and industry metrics to improve internal capabilities.

About You

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or related field.
  • You have 10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related roles, with at least 4 years in a leadership capacity.
  • You have proven experience in a SaaS environment, with a deep understanding of SaaS metrics and KPIs.
  • You have a strong proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and data manipulation languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
  • You have experience with data warehousing solutions and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • You have exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • You have strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • You have the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Impact

  • 1 month: Assess the current BI landscape at Ellevation and identify areas of opportunity to improve data-driven decision-making. Build connections with stakeholders across the organization to gather insights on reporting needs and current challenges.
  • 3 months: Develop and own the BI strategy by defining a clear roadmap that is aligned to company objectives, establishing key success metrics, and identifying high impact areas for BI support. Enhance data quality and reporting.
  • 6 months: Lead implementation of new BI systems and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Partner closely with leadership, finance, and sales to establish a data-driven culture within Ellevation.
  • 12 months: Expand BI capabilities and scale business impact. Reliable and impactful reporting built across all departments. Refine strategy based on evolving business needs.
