We are currently seeking an experienced PIC Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing integrated photonic devices that are essential for our quantum computing applications.
The Integrated Photonics Engineer will work on the development of photonic integrated circuits (PICs), focusing on their design, fabrication, and testing. This role requires a deep understanding of photonic systems and materials, as well as expertise in simulation and characterization techniques. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the successful integration of photonic components within our quantum technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for quantum computing systems.
- Utilize simulation tools to analyze and optimize the performance of photonic devices.
- Collaborate with fabrication and characterization teams to ensure seamless production of photonic devices.
- Engage in continuous research to enhance our understanding of photonic materials and technologies.
- Contribute to the intellectual property initiatives of the company through innovative design work.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Physics, Electronics or Telecom Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on integrated photonics.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and development of photonic integrated circuits.
- Proficiency in using simulation tools such as Lumerical, COMSOL, or equivalent.
- Experience in PIC layout with tools such as GDSFactory, IPKISS, KLayout or similar.
- Strong background in optical physics, semiconductor principles, and device fabrication.
- Experience with experimental setups and optical characterization techniques is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and work collaboratively within diverse teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in French is a plus.
