The Asset Operations department includes Asset Management, Operations & Maintenance, and Measurement & Instrumentation.
Position Overview:
As a Performance Analyst in the Asset Operations Department, you will play a key role in monitoring and optimizing asset performance, providing technical support to Asset Management Managers, and contributing to the deployment of new tools and processes for utility-scale Wind, Solar, BESS, and Hybrid projects in Southern Africa.
Key Responsibilities:1. Performance Monitoring & Analysis
- Define and calculate performance monitoring indicators covering technical, operational, and economic aspects.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Conduct audits and inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead performance review meetings with Asset Management Managers, Operational Managers, and external O&M providers (e.g., turbine manufacturers).
- Generate and analyze detailed performance reports to inform operational decision-making.
- Track performance improvement action plans, assess impact, and share insights.
- Conduct multi-fleet performance analysis using equipment, economic, and operational data.
- Evaluate the impact of retrofits or changes affecting asset performance.
- Oversee lifecycle management from installation to decommissioning.
2. Operational Efficiency Improvement
- Define and track operational performance indicators (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, intervention relevance).
- Conduct performance review sessions with Asset Managers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, working with internal teams and external providers.
- Engage with EDF Renewables’ global subsidiaries to exchange best practices.
- Drive innovation by introducing new analysis methods and performance monitoring enhancements.
- Optimize manual task efficiency across teams.
- Develop and maintain a Performance Knowledge Base for future projects.
3. Business Tools Integration
- Represent Asset Operations in digital transformation projects at EDF Renewables.
- Assist in defining digital tool requirements, drafting specifications, and monitoring project implementation.
- Develop and maintain customized digital tools for performance analysis.
- Train and support the Asset Operations team on AI and digital tool usage.
- Oversee documentation and ensure smooth tool integration and management.

- Functional Reports: Provide support to junior analysts, technicians, and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications & Certifications:Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Renewable Energies, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in performance data analysis for wind and photovoltaic farms.
- Proficiency in VBA, SQL, R, Python, PySpark.
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI) and SCADA monitoring software (PI, OSISOFT).
- Experience working in an AWS environment (advantageous).
Relevant Experience:Must-Have Experience:
- 5+ years of professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in the energy sector (renewables & storage preferred).
- Strong knowledge of REIPPP and private programs, including PPA, IA, SAA contracts.
Preferred Experience:
- Performance data analysis experience for wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects.
- Additional experience in renewable energy project management and performance optimization.
