THE ROLE
The People & Culture Generalist provides day-to-day HR support across the company, ensuring a consistent and compliant employee experience. This role supports first-line employee relations, policy application, health and safety coordination, and the smooth execution of core HR processes. The Generalist acts as a go-to resource for employees and leaders, helping to maintain a workplace that is respectful, legally compliant, and well-organized. In addition to HR responsibilities, approximately 20% of this role includes general office administration to help maintain a functional and welcoming work environment.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Our workplace is dynamic, supportive, and entrepreneurial in spirit, and we pride ourselves on being a collaborative, open-minded, and imaginative team. On a day-to-day basis, the People & Culture Generalist will:
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and general support.
- Support employee relations by documenting and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with employment standards and coordinate company-wide policy updates.
- Track and support health and safety training and initiatives across departments.
- Support the administration of key HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, changes to employment, and employee file management.
- Identify opportunities to improve, streamline, and automate HR workflows and administrative processes.
- In partnership with People & Culture leadership, helps drive performance review and engagement survey cycles throughout the year.
- Assist with the coordination of compliance training (e.g., harassment prevention, health and safety).
- Partner with payroll, IT, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth employee lifecycle experience.
- Support administrative tasks, including ordering, receiving and replenishing office snacks and supplies and coordinating general office upkeep.
- Assist with internal communications and occasional employee engagement activities.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years of experience in a People & Culture Generalist (or similar HR) role.
- CPHR or equivalent designation is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation across Canada, including province-specific standards.
- Demonstrated experience handling employee relations matters with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
- Familiarity with health and safety policies and compliance practices.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.).
- Experience working with an HRIS or employee data system.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable handling confidential information with sound judgment.

The annual salary for this role falls within the range of $60-75,000 CAD.
