Job Description
As a Payroll Specialist you will process time records, compile payroll statistics, maintains payroll control records, and calculate payrolls by performing the following duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers and processes the company’s semi-monthly (multi-state) payroll in a timely manner.
- Administers and processes Australian bi- weekly payroll in a timely manner.
- Maintains confidential and secure payroll records and files.
- Ensures confidentially of private employee information.
- Records payroll data including employee contact information, pay rates, commissions, taxes, withholdings, garnishments, and bank account information into computerized payroll system.
- Reviews and approves payroll deductions.
- Calculates employee commissions and maintains database.
- Reviews payroll to ensure accuracy.
- Adjusts errors and complaints.
- Distributes semi-monthly payroll check stubs and live checks on a timely basis.
- Audits, inputs coding, processes and pays all travel and expense reports.
- Reviews and issues required government paperwork such as W-2’s.
- Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Prior experience with Paychex payroll software is required; experience with Great Plains and/or QuickBooks is highly desirable.
- Exposure to foreign currency transactions is desirable, but not required.
- Multistate payroll experience required
- 200+ employee experience required
- Paychex Flex Experience is required.
