THE ROLE
The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing, participating in the processing of, recording of, and retaining of all payroll information. To accomplish this role, you will conduct routine payroll audits, manage and lead talent assigned to payroll, possess a payroll as a service mindset being a point of contact for questions about payment policies and procedures, and be a team player that regularly collaborates with the accounting and human resources teams.
YOU WILL

Oversee and manage the entire payroll function, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Participate in and improve processes for our semi-monthly payrolls, off-cycle payrolls, and special payrolls.

Be the primary payroll resource for employees, direct reports, and other stakeholders within Ncontracts.

Prepare payroll related journal entries and reconciliations.

Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with internal and external audits.

Assist with month-end close tasks and complete special projects as assigned.

Assist with year-end reporting and preparation of annual tax forms.

Assist with year-end audit requests related to payroll.
YOU BRING:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources or another related field.

5 years of experience managing payroll or similar accounting role.

3-5 years’ multi-state payroll processing, HRIS administration and configuration experience.

Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processes, FLSA laws, payroll taxes, and payroll related compliance.

Experience in handling payroll audits, inspections and compliance assessments.

Proficiency in Microsoft office, and intermediate to advance Microsoft Excel skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.

Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy.

Ability to handle multiple tasks with capability to prioritize and are highly organized.

Compensation Information
Pursuant to state and local law disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience and location is $70,000 to $80,000 per year. This position may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance and is not guaranteed.
