POSITION SUMMARY

This role is required to be in our corporate HQ office 5 days a week.

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of global payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, compliance with regulations, and the overall efficiency of payroll functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of payroll systems and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data entry, payroll calculations, and payment processing;
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements;
  • Manage a team of two employees and oversee international payroll that’s processed by a third party provider;
  • Manage new payroll system implementation with Workday including end to end process testing, parallel testing and implementation of applicable controls prior to go live;
  • Post implementation, coordinate testing surrounding any upgrades and system changes, working closely with HR, IT and software vendors;
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports, including for example those applicable to stock-based compensation, income tax, public company financial reporting, overtime, and deductions;
  • Maintain and improve payroll policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and accuracy;
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate employee records and benefit deductions;
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and partner with HR to respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and tax withholdings;
  • Conduct periodic audits of payroll and related records to ensure compliance and accuracy;
  • Stay current with industry trends, legislation, and best practices related to payroll management;
  • Train and mentor payroll staff to enhance their skills and improve team performance;
  • Provide post payroll analysis to finance team on unusual or significant non-standard items.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field;
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or in a similar role (typically 5+ years);
  • Preferred experience with Workday HRIS;
  • Preferred experience working in a public company environment;
  • Exposure to payroll processing for non U.S. jurisdictions (e.g. UK, Australia, India);
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software with preferred experience using Workday;
  • Familiarity with federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance including experience handling payroll requirements for vesting of restricted stock units and employee stock purchase plan;
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization;
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
