Are you a skilled and enthusiastic Automotive Mechanic eager to deliver exceptional roadside service to motorists in need? RAC WA is seeking customer-focused professionals to join our dynamic team of Roadside Patrol Mechanics in Southern Perth.
About the Role
Operating on a flexible rotating shift roster (6:00 am - 11:30 pm, Monday to Sunday), your key responsibilities will include:
- Responding to roadside assistance requests, providing immediate mechanical repairs and support to RAC members.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting a variety of vehicle breakdowns and mechanical issues efficiently and accurately.
- Performing minor repairs, including battery replacements, tyre changes, and jump-starts, using your technical expertise.
- Delivering exceptional customer service to ensure members' safety and satisfaction in challenging situations.
- Coordinating with additional resources (e.g., towing services) when required.
- Maintaining detailed and accurate service records in line with RAC's procedures.
This role requires you to start your day from a designated location.
What We’re Looking For
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic, with expertise across various vehicle makes and models.
- A relevant trade qualification in automotive mechanics or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and resourceful under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with members and colleagues.
- A Motor Vehicle Repairer’s Licence for light vehicle repairs (mandatory).
- A valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- A customer-centric mindset and a passion for helping people during stressful situations.
