The Role
The a16z Early Stage Venture (ESV) Editorial team is a dynamic, high-impact group with a track record of producing influential content across a variety of channels inclusive of: podcasts, blog posts, media op-eds to videos, events, and social media. We’re seeking an Editorial Operations Partner who is passionate about leading operations for our editorial team and eager to streamline and manage workflows. This role will serve as a content project manager, maintaining project queues, tracking approvals and intake tickets, streamlining operations, coordinating deliverables, and partnering with internal and external partners to keep team operations running smoothly.
As part of the Early Stage Venture Editorial team, you will work directly with editors, marketing partners, designers, contractors, and others to assist in the timely publication of blog posts, newsletters, podcasts, videos, social media campaigns, and special projects.
To join our team, you should be excited to:
- Maintain, streamline, and communicate content calendars and project plans, including workback schedules, ticket management, content deliverables, etc. across the organization
- Develop and build a scalable workflow specifically for podcast production. Workflow should span pre-production to post-production and include tracking guest approvals, design requests, marketing release forms, and other operational aspects of content publication
- Manage the last mile of editorial projects to ensure all necessary approvals (compliance, legal, policy, etc.) are complete and content is ready to publish
- Innovate and drive meaningful process improvements across our editorial operations, working across numerous platforms and channels including blogs, newsletters, podcasts, videos, and social media
- Act as a process advocate for ESV editorial across the organization
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in journalism, editing, corporate communications, and/or a related field, with operational experience that spans internal and external contributors and agencies
- Proven success in delivering high-quality and organized projects on time with high attention to detail
- Expert ability to be a self-starter, work autonomously, juggle multiple deadlines across disparate workstreams, prioritize competing tasks, and get things done efficiently
- You easily build rapport and trust with others and have a collaborative attitude with a team-first approach
- High professionalism and EQ; low ego along with an ability to collaborate effectively and cross-functionally with multiple teams across the firm
- Knowledge of Wordpress/different CMS platforms
- A builder mindset. We are reimagining what content looks like at a16z early-stage venture
- Exceptional communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a focus on detail
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $176,000 - $205,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
This role is eligible to participate in the a16z Carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
