The Staffbase Legal team is a mighty (and growing!) team, that works across all Staffbase departments to support the business in our rapid and international expansion. At Staffbase Legal, our core values are plain language, business acumen, and finding workable and pragmatic solutions to legal problems. We also constantly examine how we can improve our processes, templates, and policies to improve the experience for our customers and our team here at Staffbase.

You’ll be supporting the Go-to-Market teams in North America and other common law jurisdictions (UK, Ireland and Australia), as well as the procurement function globally. You will also help to support compliance processes and sales enablement initiatives driven by the legal team. Reporting into our Global Legal Director based in Amsterdam, but with key stakeholders in North America, you will be flexible around your core working hours in order to support the global GTM teams. We’re looking for a highly motivated, driven and self-starting individual who loves to work in a diverse and international team.

Important: This is a hybrid role. Core in-office days in our Minneapolis-Saint Paul co-working space are Tuesdays-Thursdays, and it is expected that folks will be in the office a minimum of 1/2 day/s per week during core days. As our Minneapolis-Saint Paul location continues to grow, in office attendance will increase to a minimum of twice weekly during core office days. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Reviewing legal documents for Go-to-Market teams (e.g. NDAs, MSAs, DPAs, order forms, RFPs and RFQs, and other commercial documents related to sales deals) against legal-sales playbooks 
  • Reviewing and amending vendor terms and conditions on procurement matters (e.g. SaaS purchases, marketing, consultancy agreements) against playbooks and guidelines
  • Monitoring changes in laws and regulations and support in updating policies
  • Updating internal policies and guided learning material for non-legal colleagues 
  • Collaborating closely with the Commercial Legal team on deals, templates and playbooks
  • Supporting and guiding business colleagues in applying our legal process, in particular the sales process, using automation and technology where appropriate
  • Working with Legal Ops and other members of the team to keep legal documentation organized and well-maintained. 
  • Responding quickly to queries directed to the legal team, in keeping with our “Easy to Work With” values. 

What you need to be successful

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a paralegal or contracts manager in an in-house legal department or law firm
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. 
  • Strong track record of reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance legal and business considerations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work out-of-hours to support regional markets in multiple timezones on occasion.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Minnesota. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Staffbase's total compensation package for employees. Pay: $80,000 - $100,000 base salary per year. In addition, Staffbase provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, equity, paid parental leave, an employee growth budget, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, wellness days, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
