HOURLY RATE: $15.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience

MUST HAVE

  • Strong interest in digital advertising and performance marketing.
  • Foundational knowledge of Google Ads or other paid media platforms (coursework or self-taught is great!).
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, including basic formulas and data manipulation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a curiosity to dig into performance data.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks.

ROLE MISSION

Support the growth and profitability of Launch Potato’s flagship brand, FinanceBuzz, by assisting in the management, optimization, and analysis of high-budget Google Ads campaigns. This role is hands-on and designed to provide real-world experience across creative, data, and strategy — all within a high-performance marketing team.

OUTCOMES

  • Campaign Support & Foundations: Quickly get up to speed on our Google Ads account structure and performance goals. You’ll play a key role in campaign pacing, QA, and ad copy reviews — contributing to live campaigns that drive real revenue. Expect hands-on exposure to how we optimize millions in annual ad spend.
  • Data-Driven Impact: Gain fluency in analyzing campaign performance data and uncovering actionable insights. You’ll learn to navigate the same tools our marketing team uses (like Looker) and contribute to weekly reporting that informs strategic decisions across high-growth verticals.
  • Optimization & Testing Ownership: You’ll directly support keyword, audience, and creative testing initiatives that improve ROI and scale. Learn how small changes lead to big performance gains, and see the real-time business impact of your contributions.
  • Capstone Project & Team Influence: Take ownership of a project that solves a real marketing challenge — whether it’s launching a creative test, analyzing a trend, or exploring a new sub-vertical. You’ll present your recommendations to the team and leave with a tangible case study for your portfolio.

COMPETENCIES

  • Previous Google Ads experience, educational or professional.
  • A demonstrated passion for performance marketing or advertising (coursework, side projects, or certifications welcome!).
  • Strong comfort with spreadsheets and data — you enjoy digging in and finding patterns.
  • An eye for creative — you’ve written ad copy or social captions, or have thoughts on why an ad performs.
  • Great organization skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and work well with cross-functional teammates.
  • A self-starter mentality with a willingness to ask questions and take initiative.

NICE TO HAVES

  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, MidJourney) for creative ideation or automation.
  • Knowledge of personal finance or consumer financial products.
  • Experience with analytics tools like Looker, Tableau, or Google Analytics.
  • Exposure to competitive research tools like SpyFu or Ahrefs.
  • Experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments (startups, student orgs, or internships).
