Job Summary
Lightpath is seeking an Engineering & Construction Operations PMO Manager who will be responsible for supporting fiber network construction projects in several markets across the US. The individual is responsible for managing across multiple teams within the organization as well as outside vendors, with regards to the fiber engineering and construction implementation of the fiber network deployment program. This includes but not limited to interval performance management, due date met performance, project tracker management and accuracy, daily/weekly/monthly reporting within the organization as well as to external customers. The PMO Manager is expected to provide readouts to all project team members, as it relates to engineering and construction project progression against the project schedule that the entire team is working towards. The overall PMO Managers goals are to deliver projects on time, on interval, in compliance with all customer schedule expectation and contract deliverables.
The PMO Manager is a vital part of the Lightpath team. LP has near-term plans to dramatically accelerate expansion and, in doing so, the engineering and construction of new conduit/fiber plant. The OSP market driven project team is responsible for working with OSP design engineers and OSP construction contractors to enable the rapid deployment of the fiber plant to enable this expansion, and the PMO Manager plays a key role in this process by tracking the progression of scope against the project schedule.
Responsibilities

  • Manage across internal and external teams the tracking of project progression against the overall project schedule.
  • Hold daily/weekly project calls with the team to understand project milestones and any project challenges in executing the work.
  • Manage daily progress through tracking in MS excel project trackers or any systems within the organization to support such efforts.
  • Document and help drive OSP roadblocks when necessary.
  • Effectively track, report and communicate OSP project progress to management and customers.
  • Provide early communication on potential due date, interval, slippage in schedule to the OSP functional leadership.
  • Participate in project meetings at the corporate level and effectively support the overall project effort.
  • Support customer meetings as necessary.
  • Develop high-level OSP schedule for each project for the engineering, permitting and deployment phase.
  • Develop detailed baseline OSP schedule upon project kickoff (using standardized OSP project tools) and maintain this schedule throughout the course of the project. Ensure that project tracker is updated daily.
  • Oversee the construction complete process and ensure all tasks are closed-out in a timely manner.
  • Manage the as-built drawings process upon completion of construction for each segment to ensure closeout of the project and turn over to customer.
  • Daily and frequent interaction with all team members, including the permitting individual responsible for managing all permits in market.
  • Interface with other senior management on critical projects, customer escalations, and Schedule reviews.
  • Ensure projects meet deadlines.
  • Manage and track team metrics against results on a quarterly basis.


Qualifications

  • BS degree in Construction Management or other related technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Seven to ten years technical and management work related experience in the telecommunications project management, and direct customer interface.
  • The position will require outstanding critical thinking and decision-making process, the anticipation of risky business situations with deliberate and swift response to same.
  • The individual must possess outstanding communication skills, written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills as he/she interfaces with subordinates, peers, customers, and vendors.
  • Experience in ESRI IQ GEO would be a plus.
  • Deep, expert experience in MS Excel a must.

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in Colorado. The pay range at the time of posting in the specified locations is $110,000 - $140,000/year. Pay ranges are supplied in compliance with Colorado law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience.
