Job Responsibilities

  • Providing first-line support and are subject matter experts for operational problems across all departments
  • Processing and documentation of support requests
  • Identifying, understanding and explaining the impact of new processes and/or changes to existing processes on product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Identify and research back end related bugs. Work closely with the appropriate Development team to discover root cause
  • Fix data related bugs/issues via database or application updates
  • Preparation of communications on bugs/issues and projects as needed
  • Ensuring successful development and implementation of new business processes
  • Providing functional direction, technical direction, and support to multiple internal departments such as: Partner Care, Marketing, Merchandising, and Product Care.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management.
  • Follow legal policies as directed.

Job Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of Overstock’s internal applications and databases
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in an operational support role
  • E-commerce industry experience
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • An excellent understanding of relational database systems
  • Proficiency with data management and integrity principles
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Advanced-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize duties, and meet deadlines
  • Superb attention to quality, detail, and organization
  • Ability to troubleshoot and apply problem-solving skills in an organized manner
  • Polished oral and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of other programming languages is helpful (HTML, Perl, Java)

Education

Physical Requirements:


This position requires you to sit, stand and perform general office functions. You may also be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
