PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee material handling functions at Manufacturing facility or Service Center
  • Coordinate safety all initiatives for team
  • Manage lumber yard and staging activities
  • Handle logistics activities and help coordinate between sister facilities to move freight efficiently.
  • Ensure lumber is pulled, staged and ready for delivery (QA/QC)
  • Work with production team to manage material flow
  • Maintain quality control standards to ensure material is accurate and arrives to job site damage free
  • Utilize KPIs to monitor productivity
  • Manage staffing to appropriate levels and conduct hiring activities.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

LEVEL:  MENTOR/COACH/FEEDBACK

  • Ensures appropriate staffing to meet departmentneeds, utilizing recruiting and selection tools/processes to build organizational talent.
  • Evaluates direct reports performance and plans for compensation actions in accordance with that performance, creating developmental opportunities through identification of internal and external training opportunities.
  • Shares best practice of Mentor/Mentee program
  • Shares best practice for proactive process improvement and supports Best Place to Work culture for the organization.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years experience lumber yard management including managing direct reports.
  • Must be bilingual in English
  • Must be able to be Forklift certified and maintain certification
