Operations Manager


As an Operations Manager you will...

Be joining a mature Operational Management team with an established Lean / Operational Excellence culture, reporting to the Head of Operations UK & Ire

  • Responsible for the Crick warehouse in UK, the Operations Manager will lead, manage, and develop 5-10 direct reports and approximately 45 associates/temps performing warehousing services for our core go-to-market verticals in Technology Solutions with a focus on cost, customer quality and reliability. 

  • Translating the Ingram Micro Technology Solutions Operations annual objectives to the Line managers/supervisors of daily warehousing operations departments. Accountable for the management of multiple operational areas / activities and associated results, including all related labour agencies.

  • To ensure robust operational planning, control and monitoring of all team member performances leading to an improvement in accuracy and productivity

  • To ensure that all local and global KPI’s are met in full – both service and productivity.

  • Supporting Head of Operations in developing plans and executing strategic improvements of all operations systems including WMS, ERP and integration into TMS. 

  • Support in development and execution of warehousing Opex budgets, including capital and operational expenses.

  • Work collaboratively with Ingram Micro business team, transportation, sales, customer support, finance, IS and IT, purchasing, strategic sourcing and engineering to ensure alignment supports an accelerated transformation to achieve exponential improvement in warehousing services, costs, and solutions.

  • To ensure a continuous improvement LEAN / Operational Excellence culture throughout the distribution centre maximising efficiency

  • Work with and train others as appropriate to create, capture, organise and store process knowledge, in a manner that supports effective and efficient retrieval and re-use.

  • To ensure a safe and secure environment across all areas of the distribution centre in line with current Health and Safety guidelines and 5S Culture

  • To support the operational management team as needed in all areas of the business.

  • Own individual projects with defined timelines

The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have…

  • Extensive experience managing a team in FMCG environment at Operations Manager level

  • Proven track record of successful management and accomplishments implementing productivity improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Strong bias for action, can communicate vision clearly and be a driver of change. 

  • In depth understanding of ERP / WMS / MHS systems

  • Have thorough knowledge of supply chain management and an understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders, and receiving and returns.
