Overview:
Sentara Health is hiring an Operations Coordinator for Cardiac, Pulmonary, and Vascular Rehab at Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA. This is a full time, day shift position.

Monday - Friday: 7am to 4pm
Overview
The Operations Coordinator will provide daily support to the operations of the department and administrative support to the leader. They will also be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. They will perform administrative tasks to include providing customer service through phone and personal interactions.

Obtain insurance verification and prior authorization.

Communicate insurance and financial responsibilities prior to services.

Responsible for correspondence, chart preparation, scanning documents into EMR, scheduling meetings, preparing departmental reports, statistics and file maintenance.

Prepares and processes accounts payable, payroll, employee mileage reimbursement claims and operational information.

Responsible for supply ordering and charge entry.

Performs technical support and administrative support to department staff.

Assumes responsibility and accountability for office activities, administrative, procurement, and business/financial activities.

Supports the delivery of patient care and functions in a multi-disciplinary environment, which requires excellent communication and customer service skills.
Education

High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
Experience
-
Two years of previous clerical/administrative experience (Required)

Prior experience in a medical front office or customer service role (Preferred)

Experience with Health Insurance Plans, insurance verification, EMR, medical terminology, registration, scheduling and/or third-party payers (Preferred)

Sentara CarePlex Hospital, located in Hampton, VA, is a 224-bed technologically advanced, acute care facility, and Certified Primary Stroke Center. Other features include specialized services in heart and vascular, urologic care, along with advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, a hospitalist program, and one of the state's busiest emergency departments.
