Secondment/Contract: Duration up to 5 months
Do you see yourself as an advisor, providing insightful expertise on Supply Chain operations and projects? Reporting to a Manager/Director within the facility or department, the Operational Analyst acts in a consultative and advisory role to management for current and proposed business activities, analysis tools, methodologies, policies and procedures, inventory, accounting and budgeting information. You will support the department, facility and division by providing detailed analysis, reports, feasibility studies and general operational consulting services. You will seek opportunities to improve operations and efficiencies. You will provide technical leadership and support to departmental staff and project teams.

About the Role
- Conducts and provides detailed analysis on complex departmental and LCBO logistics and operational issues and develops proposals and recommendations for the division and senior management.
- Prepares accurate operating and statistical reports and statements generated from several systems for submission to senior management.
- Reviews/analyses operational and statistical reports and statements, monitors variances, identifies trends and recommends action to management.
- Reviews operating reporting systems and recommends alternative processes to improve efficiency and refine operation practices. Analyse processes by developing detailed problem definition, defining requirements, analysing alternatives and recommending improvements.
- Provides analysis of budget proposals against preset targets and presents results and recommendations for management review.
- May act as manager in manager's absence or assume a supervisory role and perform other tasks as assigned.
- Comprehensive tender (Debit and Credit Card) reconciliation processes and analysis, database integrity and recouping non-settlement of funds.
- Period end and year end tasks – work with Treasury, IT & Finance to ensure that all required objectives are met.
- Work with the Finance teams to design and implement enhanced financial reporting controls.
- Prepare journal entries to be posted in the Oracle General Ledger
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to the Business to Business (B2B) Service Representatives
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing for system upgrades and enhancements, issue identification and resolution.
- Identify system requirements to automate processes to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the grocery operations function.
- Build relationships with customers and suppliers to facilitate the timely understanding and resolution of inquiries, and maintaining program compliance, while providing extraordinary customer service
- Provide support to operationalize policies, create user manuals, and document processes.
About You
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration and/or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience
- 2 to 3 years of experience within a Supply Chain environment, with expertise in Supply Chain activities, functions, processes, concepts, and legislation
- Knowledge of the current LCBO business environment as it relates to wholesale and working with B2B customers.
- Excellent reporting knowledge of complex analysis methodology to provide in-depth analyses and to make recommendations.
- Proficiency in computerized systems and query tools (i.e. grocery management system) for implementation, testing and report generation
- Advanced level expertise in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access
