The Student Financial Planning Operations Administrator serves as a member of the High Point University’s Student Financial Planning (SFP) Office professional staff and reports directly to the Assistant Director of SFP. This position is responsible for the technical and operational support of the SFP Office and serves as a liaison between the SFP and the University’s IT, Admissions, Student Accounts and Business offices in the maintaining and continual upgrade of the various software systems utilized by the SFP Office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience. 

Experience and Training:

  • Experience with database management, system analysis, reporting, and data visualization preferably with a student software system such as Ellucian Colleague.
  • Minimum of 3 years in higher education with knowledge of student finance environment preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially spreadsheet and database applications such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Power Pivot are essential.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Ability to collect, research and resolve errors within systems, processes, data and reports.
  • Knowledge of financial aid regulations, procedures, best practices, and terminology.
  • Interpersonal skills to be able to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Assists in the direct support of the SFP Office in areas of production, file loading, and developing queries and reports in the evaluation of the financial aid process of our current and prospective students.
  • Performs necessary testing of systems and software upgrades to identify and resolve issues before implantation into production.
  • Keeps informed of federal and state regulations to make sure that proper processes and procedures are in place to ensure compliance.
  • Ensures proper flow of data between the SFP systems, the Department of Education and other internal and external systems continues daily.
  • Provides necessary reports for proper operations within SFP, other departments, and external entities.
  • Processes initial aid packaging of all prospective and currently enrolled students.
  • Reviews and reconciles all data necessary to award, transmit, and disburse financial aid.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by the SFP management team.
