What You'll Bring:
We’re looking for a Operational Risk Manager to join our growing Risk Management team.
As part of the Operational Risk and Resilience team, the role holder is accountable for establishing, maintaining and managing a reporting framework to support the monitoring and management of operational assurance activity for TransUnion UK and Europe, ensuring a high-quality, consistent approach to Risk and Control Management is applied across the business.
Day to Day You’ll Be:
- Establishing, maintaining and managing the first line Risk Management Framework across all TU UK and Europe business areas, operating in the context of the second line Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Engaging with various business owners to facilitate the creation, maintenance and management of risk registers, including best-practice guidance on risk identification and assessment, risk and control articulation, risk mitigation plan development and the annual Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).
- Fostering good relationships with other assurance colleagues across second line, such as Compliance, Issue Management, Operational Resilience and Third Party Risk Management, to ensure findings and outputs from other assurance prgrammes are fed into the risk registers as appropriate.
- Planning and leading specialist deep dives/thematic reviews to identify process and control weaknesses and/or non-adherence to Policy and Standards, with the output to include making recommendations that will materially improve the risk and control framework and/or pro-actively identifying the root cause of non-adherence and creating action plans to address.
- Acting as a Risk Management subject matter expert providing support, education and training to colleagues across the global organization, and at all levels, to improve the risk culture across the business.
- Identifying and driving areas of control improvement for key processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all policies and standards.
- Supporting the preparation of risk and control framework reporting for relevant governance forums as required, to illustrate how the current control environment is performing and to escalate risk issues to the relevant stakeholders.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification to drive quality management into the business, including completion of internal reviews and the audits conducted by the certification body and ensuring any audit findings are followed up and resolved.
- Responsible for the day-to-day people management of the Sr Analysts, including performance, development, and attendance.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with, build relationships and manage a variety of technical and non-technical business stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven people management skills, with experience of managing remote teams and developing individuals.
- Competency in planning and conducting different types of risk reviews (e.g., sampling, deep-dives, ISO 9001 reviews)
- Ability to articulate a business issue without resorting to technical language.
- Initiative to propose solutions and to act independently with the confidence to effectively challenge the status quo.
- Highly developed ability to analyse and present data effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all areas of work.
- Organisation and time management, specifically working to deadlines with multiple deliverables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability present findings effectively.
- Ability to adapt approach in response to changing priorities or new information.
- Risk and quality management within a regulated business, preferably within financial services sector.
- Process improvement through effective risk and control monitoring
- Managing and maintaining an ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System
- Working with Microsoft Office applications
- Educated to degree level or otherwise suitable experience.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Understanding of Credit Reference Agency data (desirable)
- Design and implementation of control dashboards and reporting (desirable)
