Job Description
The Operations Planner is responsible for planning of manufacturing activities. This includes the creation of the production schedule, ensuring proper allocation of resources to meet the production schedule, and analysis of requirements to ensure proper execution and adaptation of the schedule with changing priorities as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist/Coordinate the weekly production schedule in collaboration with the production management team
• Manage inventory and ordering of raw materials, packaging and other materials needed for the production department
• Ensure an efficient planning of resources (raw materials, packaging, equipment etc.) according to the production schedule established for each department in a defined timeframe
• Use SAP for real-time inventory management, ensuring accuracy and visibility of stock levels. Implement inventory control measures to minimize overstock and outages
• Utilize SAP to analyze sales data, consumption trends, and historical demand to develop accurate ordering patterns. Adjust stocking parameters to optimize inventory levels and meet sales forecasts provided by sales teams
• Stock Rotation, Batch, and Date Management: Manage stock rotation and oversee batch and expiry date tracking to ensure product freshness and compliance with quality standards. Implement strategies to reduce waste and optimize the use of inventory
• Coordinate stock transfers from other plants and warehouses
• Assist with managing receiving of materials and work with logistics as needed to coordinate materials deliveries
• Complete required reports surrounding the production department, for example productivity per department, availability, department improvement
• Complete inventory cycle counts as required
• Participate in Annual Inventory count (yearly)
• Additional duties as assigned
• Working on the production floor with exposure to noise, heat and cold
• Working outdoors – adaptation required to fluctuations in temperature and weather conditions
• Working under pressure in a detail-oriented environment, requiring excellent organizational, time management and priority management skills.
• Conversing by phone, Teams and email consistently for full work shifts
Qualifications
• Education: College Degree combined with basic training in production management and logistics or equivalent experience
• Bilingual in French is an asset
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks appropriately
• Working knowledge and experience in ERP systems, specifically SAP
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
• Strong and quick decision-making
