Job Description
At Masdar we have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational H&S Manager. You will be responsible for leading the management of environmental and social (“H&S”) studies for Projects, and providing supporting services for compliance and performance aspects during Mega project delivery and asset management.
Responsibilities not limited to;
- Lead the provision of H&S support for projects and assets in construction and operation, balancing between in-house and external service providers and combining lowest cost with maximum knowledge build-up and flexibility.
- Promote and build confidence in Masdar’s success stories, capabilities, road map and vision for H&S aspects towards stakeholders and lenders.
- Engage with and monitor relationships with external consultants and stakeholders in order to ensure adequate knowledge transfer and completion of services as per agreed parameters.
- Maintain an updated list of reputable H&S consultants to undertake H&S studies during Project development.
- Develop and implement a corporate procedure to commission H&S consultants in a compliant and cost effective manner and manage current arrangements that are already in place, supervising their work to ensure completion as per agreements.
- Lead of the commissioning and supervision of H&S studies such as ESSR, ESIA, stakeholder engagement, LRP/RAP, needs analysis, community development plans, E&S monitoring.
•Participate in contract negotiations (e.g. EPC,O&M, PPA) regarding H&S aspects in order to ensure that the scope of the contracts include the relevant H&S standards and requirements from
main project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Health / Environmental Sciences, Biology, Social Sciences, or equivalent.
- 8-10 years of experience in the H&S field including 3 years of experience in Internationally Funded Projects in emerging markets (WB/IFC, EBRD, ADB) or equivalent experience.
- Experience working as a consultant and/or at the client or lender
