PRACTICE SPECIFICS:

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, caring for patients age 18+. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

Role Specifics:

The Hospitalist group is a small team of employees with a good working relationship. 
The ideal candidate will have a hospital-based background, Adult Geriatric Acute Care certification, in addition to ACLS certification.
Anticipated Work Schedule:  12 Hour Shifts:  0700-1900 shift – no nights/no call. Typical 7-day on, 7-day off schedule throughout the year. Flexible scheduling.

Average Daily Census in Deer River hospital =8

Preferred qualifications: Physician Assistant, Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, or Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner with experience.

 EDUCATION:

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Current licensure as a registered nurse and Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota or current licensure as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota Current certification in CPR and ACLS National certification, in applicable area. Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
