The Airborne Systems Operations, part of the Defense Sector at Leidos, currently has multiple openings for a Network Engineer located within multiple locations including: Wright Patterson AFB in Beavercreek, OH and Hanscom AFB in Massachusetts.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other DoD missions. Your role will be to support our diverse portfolio of programs through a combination of software design and development, hardware interfacing and integration, laboratory experimentation, ground and flight testing to deploy cutting edge software and hardware solutions.
Primary Responsibilities.

Effectively communicate hardware and software issues with customers and end users to include leading customer and vendor meetings.

Effectively track and document hardware and software across multiple locations and programs.

Design and engineer program environments, enclaves, and networks.
-
Engineer, monitor, manage, and troubleshoot internal and external networks to include encryptors, firewalls, routers, and switches.
-
Engineer, monitor, manage, and troubleshoot virtual environments to include VMware.
-
Engineer, monitor, and manage storage appliances and ability to help troubleshoot issues with vendor support.
-
Research, implement, monitor, manage, patch, and troubleshoot various Microsoft and Linux products.
-
Research, implement, and troubleshoot active directory, group policy, routing and DNS.

Execute the process for managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning for equipment suites in accordance with the System Security Plans for these systems to rapidly and accurately identify and remediate IAVAs.

Initiate IAVA responses and system security scans, completing remediation, extending IAVA patches and security updates to designated sites, and execute monthly security scans.

Review logs and vulnerabilities, identify potential issues, and engineer solutions to remediate or mitigate these issues.

Plan and manage system installations and upgrades for networks and servers (hardware and software).
Basic Qualifications.
-
Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in one of these areas: Networking, Communications, or Systems Engineering; 4 additional years of experience will be acceptable in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Ability to identify issues and research fixes.

Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.

Strong fundamental network knowledge: IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing, VLANs, Switch configuration.

Must be a US Citizen.

A Top Secret security clearance is required for this position along with SCI eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications.

Professional certifications i.e. Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, CompTIA.

Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
-
Knowledge of DISA STIGs and how to implement hardening to various technologies.

Previous experience with encryption networks.
-
COMSEC Experience.
-
Familiar with CISCO command line.

Experience with Fiber networking.
-
Experience working with ruggedized systems.
-
Experience with VPN or enterprise network routing / edge connect.
-
Experience with MLS Switches.
-
Experience working with NTP/PTP.

Pay Range:Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
