The Networking Managed Services Engineer (L3) is a seasoned engineering role, responsible for providing a managed service to clients by proactively identifying and resolving technical incidents and problems.
Through pre-emptive service incident and resolution activities, as well as product reviews, operational improvements, operational practices, and quality assurance this role maintains a high level of service to clients.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions and is responsible for managing tickets of high complexity, conducts advanced and complicated tasks, and provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems.
This position uses considerable judgment and independent analysis within defined policies and practices and applies analytical thinking and deep technical expertise in achieving client outcomes, while coaching and mentoring junior team members across functions.
The Networking Managed Services Engineer (L3) may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities

Ten plus (10+) years of experience in networking environment responsible to plan and build new network environment; prepare, document and deploy changes in a network; understand the issues related to day-to-day operations; troubleshoot network issues with a network sniffer like Wireshark; test tools and procedures for voice and data circuits and liaison with carriers and vendors for installations

•            Certified technical engineer (typically Cisco CCIE or comparable);

•            In-depth hands-on experience with common network hardware including F5 Load balancer, Cisco router, switches, firewalls etc., together with other preferred technologies;

•            Full understanding of ITIL and service management principals and hands on experience in complex LAN/WAN, MAN, DWDM, SONET architecture.

•            Full understanding and operational knowledge of loop prevention protocols like spanning tree protocols.

•            In-depth knowledge of L2 protocols like HSRP, VRRP, VTP, 802.1Q, Flex Link, LACP, etc.;

•            In-depth working knowledge and troubleshooting of IP routing and network protocols (OSPF,

•            BGP, EIGRP, RIP, spanning tree, multicast etc.);

•            Full understanding of operational knowledge for troubleshooting of Cisco operating systems like IOS and NX-OS;

•            In-depth working knowledge of IPT implementation and troubleshooting.

•            Full understanding of firewalls & different deployment architecture.

•            Complete understanding of proxy servers and virus walls scan engines

•            Strong understanding of network security concepts and experience with network monitoring / management tools/ analysis tools;

•            Service management expertise and ability to manage, improve service levels;

•            Excellent analytical skills to evaluate problem

•            Strong technical ability to troubleshoot and solve highly complex IP networks and hardware

•            Able to conduct research into networking issues and multiple products

•            Strong communication skills, fluent in local language and English (written/verbal)

•            Strong interpersonal skills

•            Excellent team worker, able to work in virtual global teams in a matrix organization
