Network and Security Operations Specialist

We are now looking for a Network and Security Operations Specialist for our Headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the organization's network infrastructure and security posture. This role is crucial in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of the IT systems, providing first-level support and escalating issues when necessary. 

As our Network and Security Operations Specialist you typically work at our office in Helsinki, but remote work may be a possibility. The role may require occasional on-call duties and the ability to respond to emergencies outside of regular business hours. 

This role is integral to supporting the integrity and security of Relex’s IT infrastructure. As our next Network and Security Operations Specialist you ideally will have a blend of technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude towards network and security management.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Monitoring and Maintenance: Continuously check network systems to find and mitigate potential threats and performance issues. Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
• Incident Response: Act as the first point of contact for network and security incidents. Investigate and resolve issues promptly and escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams as needed.
• Documentation: Keep exact documentation of network configurations, security protocols, incident reports, and maintenance activities. Ensure that all documentation is current and accessible to relevant team members.
• Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to end-users and other IT staff. Troubleshoot network and security issues and provide solutions promptly.
• Network Project Work: Take part in network-related projects, including office moves and buildouts in other countries. This role will require travel to various locations to ensure the proper implementation and integration of network systems in new or re-located offices.
• Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure that all network and security operations adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Participate in audits and implement recommended changes to improve compliance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, such as network engineers, security analysts, and system administrators, to ensure seamless integration and operation of IT systems.
• Training and Development: Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in network and security operations. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. 

Qualifications: 

• Education: A bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in network and security operations or a related IT support role.
• Technical Skills: Ability in networking protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security technologies. Experience with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are highly desirable.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve network and security issues efficiently.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Team Player: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Attention to Detail: Elevated level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
