Our global network infrastructure underpins a variety of traffic profiles, from fast-paced trading to broader internet connectivity. You’ll partner with our senior engineers and developers across the firm to enhance existing workflows, streamline processes and ensure that our network remains stable, secure and adaptable.

- Working with project managers on site expansions, new market data feeds and connections to third-party services
- Maintaining and improving our monitoring and alert systems, with a strong emphasis on automation, AI integration and DevOps practices
- Using scripting or development tools to reduce manual tasks, enhance network visibility and explore innovative AI-driven solutions
This position is an exciting chance to be directly mentored by experienced network engineers with cutting-edge hardware, protocols and DevOps tools. Your daily support will have a direct impact on our operational excellence and your contributions to automation, AI integration and tooling will define the future of our network.
About You
- Experienced with operating and troubleshooting LAN/WAN networks
- Familiar with common routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, PIM-SM)
- Able to debug transport protocols (TCP/UDP)
- Comfortable in Linux environments and have some programming or scripting knowledge
- Enthusiastic about automation (for instance, using Python or similar tools) to simplify network operations, and open to AI-powered optimisations
- Eager to learn and adapt, creative and open to feedback
- Strong communicator; ready to interface with global teams and internal stakeholders
- Organised and flexible, able to balance day-to-day support with longer-term projects
- Have a collaborative spirit and thrive in a hands-on, team-driven environment
- Fluent in English
- Having knowledge or hands-on experience with overlay networks such as EVPN or VxLAN is a plus

What We Do
Jane Street works differently. As a liquidity provider and market maker, we trade on more than 200 trading venues across 45 countries and help form the backbone of global markets. Our approach is rooted in technology and rigorous quantitative analysis, but our success is driven by our people.
Our bright, beautiful offices in the heart of New York, London, Hong Kong, and Amsterdam are open and buzzing with conversation. We come from many backgrounds and encourage travel between offices to share perspectives. Some of our best ideas come from bumping into a visiting colleague at the office coffee bar.
Markets move fast. Staying competitive as we’ve grown has required constant invention—of new trading strategies, technology, and processes. We’ve found this is easier when you hire humble, kind people. They tend to help each other, and prioritize teamwork over titles.
We invest heavily in teaching and training. There’s a library and a classroom in every office, because deepening your understanding of something is considered real work. Guest lectures, classes, and conferences round out the intellectual exchanges that happen every day.
People grow into long careers at Jane Street because there are always new and interesting problems to solve, systems to build, and theories to test. More than twenty years after our founding, it still feels like we’re just getting started.
