Advantia is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Administrator to manage and maintain our organization's IT network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure the integrity, performance, and security of our networks, and respond to issues both remotely and on-site. This role requires expertise in configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network systems, as well as a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  1. Network Maintenance and Management: 
  • Configure, maintain, and support LAN, WAN, and wireless networks both in-person and remotely. 
  • Monitor network performance and ensure optimal reliability and uptime. 
  1. Security and Compliance: 
  • Manage firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. 
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality. 
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. 
  1. Troubleshooting and Support: 
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly. 
  • Provide technical support for escalated network-related problems. 
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure proper network configuration is maintained.
  1. System Design and Deployment: 
  • Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions. 
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance network efficiency and scalability. 
  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures. 
  • Conduct site surveys and clean-ups of cables and equipment as needed.
  1. Monitoring and Reporting: 
  • Use network monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues proactively. 
  • Generate regular reports on network performance and usage. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in network administration or a similar role. 
  • Certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent preferred. 

Technical Skills: 

  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network hardware (routers, switches, access points). 
  • Strong familiarity with Cisco/Meraki environments.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). 
  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions. 
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark). 
  • Knowledge of cloud-based networking and hybrid environments.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. 
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of security and reliability.
