Based full-time at our Sydney HQ in Alexandria, the Student Marketing Manager is responsible for leading two marketing functions (Sampling & University Activity) nationally, which aim to grow our user base and strengthen brand love among our core target group, university students. The Student Marketing Manager works with Field Marketing teams to recruit, lead & retain a casual workforce of energetic and passionate brand ambassadors. This includes coaching both Field Marketing teams and our Student Marketeers out in the field on how to ensure quality consumer & customer interactions. They are responsible for managing large national projects from start to finish, integration of impactful sales support programs, guiding our Field teams on program principles and execution standards, working cross functionally on new ways to excite our consumers and most importantly are well connected to changing generational trends and maintaining & growing our presence in the Education Channel.
Job Description
LEAD EXCEPTIONAL EXECUTION OF SAMPLING PROGRAM
- Ensuring the Student Marketeers (SM’s) are true Red Bull representatives and a tangible face of the brand through adequate recruitment, coaching & guidance to Field Marketing team.
- Support Field Marketing teams with clear expectations and guidelines for achieving targets & other sampling goals, including coaching on how these should be effectively communicated to SM’s.
- Coach the Field Marketing & SM’s on best-in-class; work in collaboration with sales teams to ensure sales support missions are effective & impactful.
- Support Marketing teams on special events and programs related to Sampling initiatives such as Indirect sampling, Red Bull events or national initiatives.
LEAD EXECUTION OF UNIVERSITY PROGRAM
- Guiding and supporting Field Marketing & University SM’s to drive Red Bull trial, increase brand awareness and foster a positive product and brand perception within their respective universities.
- Responsible for working with sales on national tender pitches, vending opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with key account groups and partners which are university related.
- Work with Field Marketing teams to grow our university presence and reach by leveraging sampling to complete university work where it makes sense and redeploying resources to universities with the most opportunity.
- Develop and implement an innovative program of exciting brand activity such as events, hacks & campaigns that will maintain Red Bull as a credible and relevant brand for students and win students as loyal Red Bull Consumers.
- Develop plans to activate Global Student Marketing events locally
MARKETING INNOVATION
- Develop and deliver an innovative business plan which complements the marketing priorities of the country, while considering the opportunities & needs of university students and the local region or city/cell.
- Ensure all new ideas and projects have a strong and engaging digital & social media backbone to be relevant to university students who are driving the digital landscape & look for brands who are innovating in this space.
- Invite & empower the Student Marketeers to come up with innovative ideas for all internal programs (culture, sports, Field etc.) and create a “test & learn” environment the right framework & feedback loop.
- Work with the cross functions to create innovative social media tactics around new product launches and initiatives.
- Develop new & creative ideas for Student Events which have either local or national relevance and will drive brand loyalty among students.
STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT
- Regularly assess and analyse the programs, identifying opportunities to improve processes and excite consumers and the student community.
- Work on plans that will sustain or increase % of awareness and brand image amongst students as well as improve student coverage & people reached on university campuses managed by Red Bull University.
- Work with Field Marketing to write, develop & deliver the annual approved business plan and achievement of agreed objectives.
- Collaborate with cross country and HQ marketing specialists to gain project learnings & ideas which can have relevance in Australia, do the same with our local great ideas.
- Identify, develop & maintain a strong network of national creators within the university space with the vision to partner with the brand on different projects and support in our program objectives.
PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT & LEADERSHIP
- Implement and uphold the International recruitment, on-boarding and training modules for global consistency, working closely with human resources for local compliance.
- Look for opportunities to improve effectiveness of recruitment campaigns by identifying new digital spaces & social media initiatives to attract the best candidates.
- Support, train and motivate to optimise the potential of achieving high performing individuals and teams.
- Identify and nurture key talent working on improving succession & pipeline development within Student Marketing for the wider organisation.
- Act as a role model and displaying the Red Bull values having a consistent tone of voice that is motivating and inspiring.
Qualifications
- Senior experience in managing people and teams
- Strong skills in nurturing and developing junior team members
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or Human Resources
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in leading events & marketing activities
- Experience in the working within the university landscape
