MRO Buyer

The role of the Maintenance Buyer is to analyze demand to maintain sufficient inventory levels to meet customer demands, optimize inventory levels, and reduce costs. The buyer is responsible for purchase order placement, vendor management, supplier/contractor sourcing, stock room management (parts receiving, labeling, storage, inventory, etc.), overall process improvement, and cost negotiations.

Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, with overtime as applicable

Work Location: 200 NW Victoria Dr, Lee's Summit, MO 64086

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour

Core responsibilities

• Maintenance purchasing
• MRO replenishment
• Delinquent order follow-up
• Communicate parts availability to Maintenance Department
• Update pricing changes
• Check delivery of critical parts
• Conduct supplier scoring and feedback
• Supplier/contractor sourcing
• Conduct spending analysis and develop cost savings opportunities
• Develop and implement MRO standardization
• Generate back-up vendors for critical parts
• Generate material/parts spend reports
• Conduct vendor negotiations for plant contracts
• Manage vendor inventory agreements and stock levels
• Establish systems and procedures to better manage the parts room process
