The Role
GM Motorsports supports racing in multiple series including NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA, WEC, and Formula 1. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled CAD Engineer for our elite team. In this role you will design and develop racecar components and systems covering the entire range of product development from initial concept to production. You will design parts and systems, optimize using finite-element analysis, and participate in regular design reviews. At times you will provide support to the end user or customer following product delivery.

- Collaborate with various members of the race program teams using a strong client-oriented focus
- Partner with others to learn from and share knowledge in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Additional Description
What You'll Need (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years' experience designing parts for automotive, motorsports, aerospace (or similar) industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA or 3DX) and FEA tools (HyperMesh, Abaqus).
- Strong understanding of part design, composite and metal alloys materials, and rapid prototyping technology.
- Solid and surface modeling.
- Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvements.
- Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot quickly and efficiently.
- Passion for motorsports and a desire to contribute to the team's success.
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics
- Knowledge of aerodynamics
