  • 2nd and 3rd shift positions 
    • 2nd shift: 3:15pm – 11:45pm
    • 3rd shift:  11:15pm – 7:45am
  • Entry Pay Rate: $17.50 plus shift premium

Shift Premium: 2nd shift is 7% and 3rd shift is 10% of base wage

Position Overview

The Hunter Douglas Plastics & Die Casting facility has manufactured and assembled plastic injection moldings in Owensboro, KY since 1981.This position is responsible for safely and efficiently running production on multiple plastic injection molding machines to create products that meet customer specifications in accordance with established policies and procedures.  

What you'll do

  • Monitoring production on multiple plastic injection molding machines
  • Ensuring quality product by performing cursory quality check according to set criteria.
  • The operator may also hold, break off, sort and manipulate small parts
  • Climb step-ladders to clean hoppers and dryers, load resin into dryers, and hoppers
  • Load color feeders to feed automatic machines
  • Perform color changes
  • Assist with minor mold change functions
  • Enter data accurately into the production monitoring system (Mii)
  • All other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Mechanical and/or technical aptitude needed
  • Must be willing to perform mold setting functions and grow into the process technician role in the future.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Must be able to safely work under pressure and at a fast pace
  • Must be able to work in an environment with ever-changing priorities
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment
  • Responsible for taking an active role in plant-wide safety activities, have a solid work history, strong work ethic, and be accommodating to shift work
  • A high school diploma or GED is needed and the WorkKeys is also desired
  • Ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule with overtime during the week and on the weekend as needed
