About this role

Deep Learning Instructor team at Udemy is looking for an intern who will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, gaining hands-on experience. You will collaborate with experienced data scientists and ML engineers, contribute to research and development of two of Udemy's biggest bets this year: automated question generation for assessments and enabling learners to role play with simulated personas to improve their soft skills. You’ll have the opportunity to enhance your research and development skills dealing with cutting-edge LLM models trying to implement ingenious solutions in a supportive and fast-paced environment. This role is designed to help you learn, grow, and make an impact while working on meaningful challenges in a highly collaborative setting.

What you'll be doing:

• Identify and solve key problems creatively, with guidance.
• Be part of a team that builds LLM-based solutions
• Research and develop machine learning algorithms to improve the quality of LLM output
• Work with the team to build systems and services to understand the performance of the LLM-based solutions

What you’ll have 

• Currently a student pursuing an BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks and libraries designed to leverage LLMs.
• Willingness to learn about the architecture behind modern LLM based systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a growth mindset.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
