Institutional Sales is one of the two key sales divisions at MIMJ (WAM Japan), and the Head of Institutional Sales plays a critical role within it. To drive MIMJ's profitability and secure future business in a competitive market, we are looking for a strong leader for our business.
This role is responsible for leading and managing three teams: Sales, Products, and Relationship Management/Client Services. As the Head of Institutional Sales, the individual in this position will be tasked with driving business growth and effectively increasing AUM across our diverse core product lines, including Fixed Income, Equity, Multi-Assets, and Private Assets.
Responsibilities:
Build a high performing team

Lead and manage over 10 staff members in the department.

Work closely with Global Head of Institutional Sales and Japan CEO to set visions and goals for the team

Plan adequate resource allocations to materialize the vision and goals

Set high but achievable benchmarks and cultivate result-oriented mindset within the team

Work in collaboration with other divisions/departments such as Operations, L&C, HR and Retail.
Business development

Accelerate the growth of the MIMJ Institutional (financial Institutions and pension) businesses and raise MIMJ’s positioning in the industry

Leverage the team’s unique strengths, and provide investment solutions to financial institutions

Engage with relevant functional teams in Asia, Canada and US offices. Leverage internal resources across the group
In addition, the Head of Institutional Sales is required to work collaboratively with the Japan board members, including CEO, in terms of managing and developing the whole MIMJ organization. Today enhancing employee engagement is one of our key priorities in Japan and this role will act as a leading agent with other senior leaders across the organization.
