Job Summary:
The Military Affairs Representative III serves as the primary liaison between CareSource Military & Veterans (CSMV) and the military and veteran community. This role focuses on enhancing relationships, promoting CSMV’s commitment to supporting military families, and developing programs to address their unique healthcare needs. The Military Affairs Representative will coordinate outreach, education, and advocacy efforts to improve healthcare access and quality of care for TRICARE beneficiaries, veterans and military families.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain partnerships with military installations, veterans’ service organizations, defense community leaders, and military family support networks
- Represent CSMV at military, veteran, and community events to strengthen brand visibility and commitment
- Cultivate relationships with military leaders, key stakeholders, and community influencers to support organizational initiatives
- Educate eligible TRICARE beneficiaries on their new ability to choose who manages their health plan
- Develop and deliver outreach campaigns to ensure beneficiaries understand the benefits of the pilot program
- Advocate for policies and initiatives that benefit military, veterans, and military families
- Educate stakeholders on CSMV’s capabilities, services, and commitment to military-affiliated beneficiaries
- Host informational sessions, webinars, and community events to explain the pilot and its impact on healthcare management options
- Collaborate with military installations, community leaders, and providers to increase awareness of the pilot in target locations
- Assist beneficiaries in navigating the enrollment process and address questions or concerns related to plan options
- Monitor pilot adoption rates and identifying barriers to enrollment to improve outreach efforts
- Support the development and implementation of programs aimed at improving healthcare outcomes for and TRICARE beneficiaries, veterans and military families
- Assist in launching pilot programs focused on care coordination and benefit integration in key markets
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure programs meet the cultural and healthcare needs of the military community
- Facilitate or assist in the delivery of military cultural competency training for employees to improve understanding and service delivery to military-affiliated populations
- Serve as a subject matter expert to internal teams regarding military and veteran healthcare, quality of life concerns
- Collaborate with marketing, outreach, and program teams to develop military-specific campaigns and resources
- Track engagement efforts, measure impact, and prepare regular reports on activities, outcomes, and opportunities
- Perform any other job duties as requested
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public affairs, business, communications or related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required. Equivalent military experience will be considered.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in military outreach, veterans’ services, healthcare, or nonprofit program management is required
- CRM tools and strategies experience is preferred
- Experience working with TRICARE, VA healthcare systems, or military family services preferred
- Military service, experience working in defense communities, or as a military spouse highly valued

Licensure and Certification:
- To help protect our employees, members, and the communities we serve from acquiring communicable diseases, Influenza vaccination is a requirement of this position. CareSource requires annual proof of Influenza vaccination for designated positions during Influenza season (October 1 – March 31) as a condition of continued employment. Employees hired during Influenza season will have thirty (30) days from their hire date to complete the required vaccination and have record of immunization verified.

Working Conditions:
- Mobile Worker: This is a mobile position, meaning that regular travel to different work locations is essential. Will be exposed to weather conditions typical of the location and may be required to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
- Reside in the same territory they are assigned to work in; exceptions may be considered, due to business need
- May be required to travel greater than 50% of time to perform work duties. A valid driver’s license, car, and insurance are necessary for work related travel
- Required to use general office equipment, such as a telephone, photocopier, fax machine, and personal computer
- Flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends as needed to serve the needs of our members and may refer members to other CareSource resources
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
Compensation Range:
$61,500.00 - $98,400.00
CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level.
