Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:

  • Maintain mould changeover standards to ensure timely results to meet production requirements and minimize equipment down-time
  • Maintaining best operating parameters
  • Initiate improvements related to process optimization and scrap reduction
  • Support continuous improvement through suggestions of long-term processing solutions and scrap reduction.
  • Drive Kanban, SOS and JES systems
  • Communicate with Process Techs shift to shift, to understand/pass-on, the current status of the operation as well as any operational issues.
  • Review and sign all communications at the beginning of the shift, i.e. Quality Alerts
  • Maintain and ensure all processes are running to baseline
  • Work with Supervisors to understand processing focus areas
  • Work with Quality group to understand acceptable level of parts quality
  • Work with engineering group to develop baseline programs, support trial efforts and implement improvement ideas
  • Ensure documentation of all processing changes
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties for all Moulding equipment and drive TPM
  • Mould installation and start-up, shut-down and removal
  • Monitor tool cleanliness and ensure tool cleaning is conducted as required
  • Submit tool maintenance requests and follow-up
  • Moulding equipment start-up and shutdown as per implemented procedures
  • Ensure correct raw material is being supplied to the moulding equipment, and proper material drying specifications are being followed
  • Troubleshooting and understanding the machine functions/setting issues
  • EOAT maintenance
  • Set up and maintain MAFACT boards
  • Implement and drive Autosystems TPS system
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Assume Supervisor responsibilities when required - scrap reporting/headcount


Qualifications:

  • Completion of Secondary School diploma ( 2 or 4 year Mechanical degree)
  • Ability to learn and comprehend basic tool construction
  • Self-motivated, ability to follow-up on task through to completion
  • Initiate process optimization/performance improvements and scrap reduction
  • Ability to learn the fundamentals of process control and understand the importance of consistent application
  • Ability to learn how to properly establish a moulding process scientifically
  • Proven track record for performance and attendance in existing position
  • Crane Slinger Training
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude (instrumentation, LDVT, pneumatics, hydraulics)
  • Strength and ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Ability to learn and comprehend Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication skills, including technically with various departments
  • Injection molding experience preferred


Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs maximum periodically
  • Ability to bend, twist, lift, and reach
  • Required to perform job duties and responsibilities in a work environment with varying levels of noise and/or temperatures
  • Normal amount of sitting and standing; ability to move around an office environment and on the production floor; ability to work at a computer workstation
