The Role:
Our site in Bedford, MA is seeking a/an Membrane R&D Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.
Entegris is looking for an intern in the Membrane R&D group within the Entegris’ Liquid Filtration Division. This position will be based at our Bedford/Billerica, MA campus. As part of the Membrane R&D organization, a successful candidate will help in the development and scale up of novel and advanced membranes for the control of micro-contamination for the semi-conductor industry.
What You’ll Do:
• The challenge of the current membrane project is product variability. The intern will perform Design of Experiments and define parameters needed for gaining better understanding of interaction of process and mixtures
• You will be designing polymer mixtures and running conditions on an extruder to create a polymeric membrane
• Membranes will be characterized with typical tools in the membrane field such as SEM, flux, and bubble point
What We Seek:
• B.S. or M.S. in chemical or polymer engineering, material science or a related discipline
• Outstanding candidate will have experience in rheology of polymers
• Experience with statistical software preferred

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
• Strong desire to conduct experiments and perform “hands on” experimental procedures.
• Detail-oriented.
• Must have strong problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work collaboratively while thinking independently.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferred would be if person can show some background with membranes, either theoretical knowledge or hands-on experience.
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
• Desired Major: Chemistry, Chem E, polymer science, material science.
• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program
