Who we are:

We are hiring a Media Operator to join our AMC Studios International team based in Amsterdam. AMC Studios International is part of the global division of AMC Networks, delivers entertaining and acclaimed programming that reaches subscribers in more than 130 countries and territories. AMCNI consists of global brands, AMC, SundanceTV, Shudder, IFC, We tv, as well as popular, locally recognized channels in various programming genres. Including the support of various VOD/EST platform services around the world.

The Role:

The Media Operator is responsible for overseeing language projects related to AMC-owned or AMC-licensed content to make sure that materials can be provided to third parties on time and in specifications outlined by the clients. Tasks include ordering and collecting all video and audio assets, foreign language files, metadata, and all supplemental paperwork for the content owned by AMC and/or controlled by AMC Studios International B.V.

The Media Operator will maintain and oversee our digital archives at key locations. The controlled archives are situated in the cloud and on premises in Spain, London and New York. You will liaise with the various international AMCN Operational departments around the world. Supporting and overseeing the accessing and delivery of language components such as subtitles, dubbed audios and episodical metadata to enrich AMCN’s intellectual properties.

In addition, the Media Operator will collect, QC and archive all foreign language assets to which AMC Networks hold the rights and shall also communicate with the sales team to ensure timely delivery of requested content to our clients according to agreed delivery terms & timelines.

You will share expertise and provide support to AMC’s International Sales department, marketing team and legal team. This support includes advising on costs, delivery timelines and technical specifications, managing promotional video creation and upload to the Showcase client viewing site(s) and daily communication with clients and vendors.

This role will be offered as a 12-month contract based in our office in Amsterdam. We are currently working in a hybrid way, from the office and from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ordering of required language components and collecting of video and audio assets, foreign language files, metadata, images, and other materials associated with the programs owned or controlled by AMC Studios International B.V. to fulfil internal and external client deliveries. In addition, communicating with external vendors on delivery schedules and ensuring delivery timelines are not jeopardized.
  • Quality controlling of all media components upon delivery to and from AMC Studios International B.V. making sure that materials are archived and delivered with correct specifications. Including handling of QC rejections and solving issues reported by clients and 3rd party facilities.
  • Managing our digital archive(s) so that material assets are stored in an organized manner, easy to access and readily available for delivery to support future deliveries.
  • Provide weekly a status report on all outstanding language projects and expected delivery timelines.
  • Initiate and supervise edits, as necessary, to make various versions of content for delivery in accordance with client’s specifications.
  • Participate in special projects such as launches, workflow improvements and perform other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies Required:

  • Strong communication and writing skills in English – Dutch language skills are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills; must be able to prioritize and plan accordingly while managing multiple important global content premieres.
  • Detail-oriented mentality and ability to accurately interpretate data. Able to operate and adjust by departmental KPI’s.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A team player.
  • Ability to function in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to adequately response to challenges ensuring business continuity and maintaining the level of quality.
  • Experience to work with various CMS systems.
  • Hands-on knowledge of current OTT landscape, apps and digital media, and a great passion for linear and non-linear entertainment in the media realm.
  • Solid understanding of international TV digital technical formats.
  • Experience with the variety of media QC tools and processes.
  • Familiarity with distribution systems such as Aspera / Signiant, Media Shuttle, (s)FTP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Teams, Visio).
  • Broad knowledge in localization processes and standard and practices in territories where AMC content is distributed.
