Design engineer who is responsible for the development, design, and integration of chassis platform systems into industry leading heavy duty specialty vehicles. Chassis Platform includes, but not limited to, axles and suspensions, steering, fuel systems, and frame structure.

Position offers a starting salary range of $82,000 - $104,500 USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA:

  • Develop, design, and release complex mechanical vehicle components and systems including fuel systems, axles, suspensions, drivelines, HVAC systems, powertrain & cooling systems, DEF & exhaust systems, frame structural ladder systems, steering systems, cab related systems, advanced routing & clipping and accessory systems.

  • Apply theoretical principles and engineering techniques in designing a vehicle that is reliable, serviceable, energy efficient, competitive and uses the latest technology available in the industry.

  • Apply statistical and engineering techniques in designing and testing, and troubleshooting.

  • Schedule, oversee, and help troubleshoot problems with component and system validation by interfacing with the EVC team.

  • Interface and coordinate with purchasing, vendors, PDM, manufacturing, sales, service, quality and other personnel during the product development and testing phases.

  • Interface with product regulation and compliance personnel to design vehicles that meet government regulations, restrictions, and codes.

  • Provide comprehensive project status updates to management and maintain project timelines and milestones.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS/BA Mechanical Engineer or related degree

  • 3D CAD experience required  

  • 2D Drafting experience– GD&T

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • 2-4 Years of related experience

  • Ability to obtain class B CDL license     

  • Automotive background
